Unfortunately though, the devices only have a 3-year limited warranty as opposed to the lifetime warranties that other companies provide.

Since Frontpoint only allows renters to sign a one-year agreement, discounts for people who have a 3-year contract doesn’t apply to them.
Customers with a one-year contract can still have $25 discount on packages. In addition to this, a one-year contract requires a minimum equipment purchase of $99.
You can install the unit on your own within 30 minutes if ever you’re not comfortable with having other people inside your home. You can also call its support team if you need extra guidance.
If you already know the equipment that you need, you can also directly purchase it on its website. It offers free regular shipping that could take 2-5 business days but you can avail its next day delivery for a small cost.
Its services are available not only for homeowners but also for renters and businesses.
For businesses, the common security features that it provides are text and email alerts to your computer or smartphone, free mobile apps, live video surveillance, and interactive capabilities that let you monitor traffic at your business. However, because of licensing restrictions, Frontpoint cannot offer monitoring of commercial fire and smoke alarms.
Top Tips for Buyers
If you’re interested in using Frontpoint Security to secure your home, you need to have a credit score of at least 600. This is a fairly low mark (Credit Sesame categorizes a score of 600 as poor) and shouldn’t be a major obstacle. However, if your score is below this, there are still other security providers out there.
Dealers and sales representatives aren’t aggressive too and customers have praised the company’s strategy to not pressure its future clients. Make sure to have a good idea of how many devices your house actually needs so you don’t spend in excess. Sales reps will be more than happy to help you out.
One of the benefits of Frontpoint’s devices is that they’re wireless and can be detached and reattached as you please. You can avail of the discount for the packages and spend only by the lower end of the price range by entering a three-year contract.
The contract auto-renews after the agreed expiration date. If you want to cancel, however, Frontpoint needs you to send in a certified letter with a return receipt at least two months before the contract’s expiration. This can be a big hassle for you if you no longer plan on using the system, but this is pretty standard in the industry.
Homeowners need to consider this carefully as the auto-renewal can subject them to cancellation fees.
You get to keep the equipment you’ve purchased after the contract expires. This will only work locally though as the account associated with the mobile app will be disabled.
Frontpoint equipment can be a little pricey. You can save more if you avail its monitoring systems together with the equipment packages. Also, if you have a three-year plan, discounts can go up to $300 for equipment purchases.
Cancellation and Transfer Policies
rontpoint packages come in 3-year or 1-year contracts. You can first try the system out for 30 days, risk-free. If you’re not satisfied with the equipment and service, you can have your money back. You can also easily send the equipment back because it offers free return shipping with no restocking fee.
However, if you decide to return them outside of the 30 days, you have to pay 80% of the remaining fees on the contract.
You also need to notify the company 30 days in advance if ever you opt to cancel. According to one of Frontpoint’s customers, they paid $34.99 for a 30-Day Notice fee when they tried to cancel their service ahead of the contract.
